Maslow's Hierarchy of Needs

Physiological
Physiological needs are the needs one needs to literally survive. Without these needs, a person can not function or live. Examples include: food, sunlight, sleep, water, heat, air, knowledge, wealth. (all for obvious reasons)

Safety
Safety Needs are needs that guarentee the "safety" of a predictable and consistent world, and where the injustice and random are kept under check. The following are examples and quick reasons why:

Procreation- A safety net to the future of your family
Knowledge- Helps create a net to fall back on to find jobs.
Shelter- Personal security
Heat- Personal security
Food- Keeps one healthy
Wealth- Financial security
Sleep- Keeps one healthy
Water- Healthiness

Love/Belonging
Love/Belonging needs (social needs) are needs that involve emotional relationships and the sense of belonging and acceptance. These needs include:

Support- shows that others do care for you
Friendship- social relationships and acceptance of your beliefs
Love- social relationships and a sense of belonging
Procreation- social relationships
Fame- sense of belonging and that one is loved

Esteem
Esteem needs are generally needs that humans want to feel respected, and the desire to be accepted or valued by others. Examples include:

Wealth- makes people feel respected with more wealth.
Shelter- bigger homes=bigger respect
Car- same ideas as wealth and shelter
Love- keeps one feeling valued
Self-Respect- name explains it all
Knowledge- more knowledge can help feel respected in certain communities
Procreation- acceptance by others because of a family
Fame- acceptance and respect
Realizing Potential- helps one feel more important and respected
Support- value by others
Friendship- respect, valued by others and accepted


Self-Actualization
The final and most important need is Self-actualization needs. These needs are needs motivated by one's want to maximize their own potential and possibilities. It includes:

Realizing Potential- makes one attempt to find their full potential
Acceptance- acceptance to facts and other's opinions helps realize full potential
